They profess to know God, but by their deeds they deny Him, being detestable and disobedient and worthless for any good deed. — TITUS 1:16
Before you think of another person, the first step is to stop and make sure that you truly know the Lord. One way to know is to reflect on your deeds and actions. Do they reveal a heart that loves God or a heart that despises Him? Do they reveal a heart that knows God or merely knows about Him?

Do you know God? Do you actually know Him?
Many claim to know God but the question to ask is: Is it possible to think that we know God and not actually know him?
We can know with confidence that anyone who does not believe in Christ does not know God, and needs the gospel. But it becomes much more difficult when we interact with people who profess to know the God of the Bible.
While many may walk into our churches and sit in our pews week after week, and make some form of profession, Paul provides a clue to test if someone’s profession of faith is real. The test that reveals if someone knows God is, what are their deeds?
Deeds do not save people, but they do reveal whether God has saved them or not. People whose deeds include regular habits of sin, an unwillingness to forgive, or who willfully go on disobeying God’s clear biblical commands, demonstrate by their deeds that their professions are empty and that they do not know God.
