But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. — 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18
“How can I change?” is an often-asked question among believers. We must remember that it is the Spirit who helps bring about change and transformation. We cannot change ourselves, but by the help of the Spirit and by beholding the glory of the Lord in the Scriptures, we are transformed into His image. Are you changing day by day to look more like Christ?

In the New Covenant, Christians can behold the glory of our Lord as in a mirror. Under the Old Covenant, the glory of the Lord was revealed yet veiled. Indeed, Moses had to keep a veil on his face for the people could not look on the fading glory (2 Cor. 3:7, 13).
A natural man cannot understand the gospel as it is veiled to the perishing (2 Cor. 4:3). But if a person turns to the Lord, the veil is removed and he can behold the glory of the Lord. But where can we see the glory of the Lord? Creation declares the glory of the Lord, but more explicitly the glory of the Lord is seen in Scripture.
An encounter with God will not leave us unchanged. As we behold the glory of the Lord, we will be transformed into His image. That transformation from “glory to glory” is not instantaneous, but rather an ongoing process. God’s purpose, then, in revealing His truth to us is that we might be transformed to look like His son (Rom. 8:29). This was the goal of Paul’s preaching (Col. 1:28), and thus should be the goal of our lives.
