Episode Transcription

God’s principle of humility and then exaltation never changes. When Jesus had humbled Himself, God exalted Him highly and gave Him a name that is above every name. Many times pride and self-justification have been a hindrance to promotion. It is no wonder God resists such proud people. God gives more grace to the humble, but He resists the proud.

People often forget that God does not violate His own principles. If Jesus Christ, being God, learned to put into practice the principle of humility in order to be exalted, how much more do you and I need to do the same—we who struggle with pride, selfishness, self-justification, and self-centeredness?

May God grant us the grace to realize that humility brings many blessings. In fact, God is looking for people who can humble themselves. When you humble yourself before God, it is a sign that you totally trust in Him and acknowledge that you cannot do anything on your own. And this is what pleases God most. We need to learn how to humble ourselves before God in every situation, just as Jesus demonstrated for us.

Take a moment today and examine your heart to see if there is any element that would cause God to resist you. Then seek to be humble before Him so that in due course, He should lift you up.
