For nothing will be impossible with God. — LUKE 1:37
Let us remember this truth in our own lives. Often we are discouraged because everything He calls us to do looks impossible for us. Even the smallest thing in our ministry cannot be done by our own strength and effort; we are totally dependent on Him. Those who understand this dependency are used by Him to achieve the impossible by His power and strength—for nothing is impossible with God!

God can do whatever He wills. This concept is clearly presented in Scripture, and it serves as a great encouragement for His people. In Genesis 17:1, He said, “I am God Almighty.” He revealed Himself to Abraham in this way just to prove to him that nothing can stop His plans.
In the same way, God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary to announce that He was about to accomplish a wonderful thing—that she, being a virgin, would give birth to the promised Messiah. When she was puzzled by how this could be, the angel from the Lord reminded her of this vital lesson: that nothing is impossible with God.
The tasks that God gave to His people, recorded in Scripture, reveal His greatness and power. They were always beyond human capacity, since God wanted to demonstrate His strength to His people and to the world around them, “that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is mighty, so that you may fear the Lord your God forever” (Josh. 4:24). His mighty deeds were monumental witnesses of His unique power, for surely He can do whatever He wills, and nothing can stop His plan.
