“For from the rising of the sun even to its setting, My name will be great among the nations, and in every place incense is going to be offered to My name, and a grain offering that is pure; for My name will be great among the nations,” says the Lord of hosts. — MALACHI 1:11
We Christians, representatives from all peoples, serve the great God of the Bible. Our ministry, in part, fulfills the prophecy of Malachi 1:11. Over the face of the whole earth, from east to west, triumphant hymns of praise and worship to the Triune God can be heard in Christian churches. The time will come when the name of God will be praised among all nations, completing the prophecy of Malachi. As a foretaste of that glorious time, we must sincerely and continuously sanctify the name of God by worshiping Him in spirit and truth.

In Malachi, God contends with His people who complain to Him. The people of God accuse the Creator of not loving them, neglecting them, and treating them unfairly. In actual fact, all of these complaints are nothing more than a poor attempt on the part of the people to find a justification for their sinful deeds. The priests deplorably neglected the service of the Lord—they were sacrificing lame and sick animals, and presenting defiled food upon His altar. At the same time, they had the gall to question God: “How have we despised Your name?” (Mal. 1:6). God knew, however, that the priests were not ashamed to utter blasphemy among themselves saying: “The table of the Lord is to be despised” (Mal. 1:7).
Does the Lord deserve such worship from His people? Our verse answers this question. A time will come when the whole planet will reverently honor the name of God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Many nations who would never think to serve the Lord, or would do so carelessly or hypocritically, will see God’s greatness.
