For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. — ROMANS 1:26–27
Homosexuality is one of the frightening evidences of this judgment, whereby men and women exchange what is natural for that which is unnatural and impure (Rom. 1:24–27). The consequence is a terrible captivity to immoral sexual desire that is never satisfied.

Every person knows the truth about God because His eternal power and divine nature are clearly understood through creation (Rom. 1:19–20). Though all people know God exists, they don’t worship or give thanks to Him (Rom. 1:21).
So, what happens when man refuses to acknowledge and depend upon God? He doesn’t stop worshiping, but he does change the object of that worship. He worships creation in place of its Creator, believing a lie in place of the truth (Rom. 1:22–23). Man is created to be a worshiper. If he will not worship God, he will worship something else. And if man consistently abandons God, God will give man over to his sinful desires. This is the judgment of God upon man, as these sinful desires do not and cannot ever satisfy. Instead, they enslave.
Homosexuality is one of the frightening evidences of this judgment, whereby men and women exchange what is natural for that which is unnatural and impure (Rom. 1:24–27). The consequence is a terrible captivity to immoral sexual desire that is never satisfied.
There is, however, escape from this downward spiral! One must acknowledge God and honor Him as the one true God. How? By repenting of sin and believing in His Son, Jesus Christ, who offers forgiveness and eternal life (1 Cor. 6:9–11). This is what God asks of us today. In Jesus Christ we are set free from all of our wicked desires, and our worship is restored to the one true God. Through Christ, God is brought back in view as the supreme object of worship and our hearts are satisfied with everlasting joy in Him.
