The mission of TMAI aligns exactly with God’s redemptive plan and purpose for His church to be built among the nations. Churches faithfully teaching the truth become disciple-making churches. Villages, towns, and cities are most effectively reached when God’s people live holy lives, proclaiming the true gospel in the context of their daily work commitments and social networks. Because the Great Commission is aimed at making biblically literate disciples—not just converts to Christianity—the teaching work of the church is the primary means by which the Great Commission is fulfilled. Converts made, without a biblically sound church to teach and train them to live godly and sober lives in this present world, will leave converts vulnerable to the threats of heresy, false doctrine, or even falling away from the faith. The local church is central to the mission of God. And central to the local church is the faithful proclamation of God’s word, assuring the authorial intent of every text has been rightly interpreted and taught with conviction and clarity. Declaring the glory of God among the nations is the proclamation ministry of the local church.

Today the ministry of TMAI has successfully equipped pastors from 85 nations, through established training centers in 15 countries. Our expectation is that the number of schools will double in the next decade. This is in response to the increasing demand by national church leaders who desire to preach in an expositional manner to their people. This demand is a clear indication that God is arousing His church in our generation to rightly divide the word of God. And so, as you come into the presence of God each day, devoting yourself to worshipping Him, may you be reminded that God is at work among the nations today. Pastors trained by TMAI to rightly interpret and proclaim the Scriptures, are faithfully instructing their congregations to understand sound doctrine and to walk in wisdom. As you meditate on each devotional penned by these men, remember that God’s plan has always been that His name and glory would be declared among the nations.

Over 200 authors from 15 countries, representing 12 languages, have contributed to this devotional—stop and marvel at the work of God’s word among the nations! Each devotional indicates the name of the man who authored it, as well as the school and country in which they minister. Every devotional in this volume is a testimony of a man who pursued such training and models sound teaching in his country. As part of your daily devotions, I would invite you to pray for this pastor or church leader, his family, and his church. Pray also for the school, its faculty, and the many pastors that are being trained. Most of these leaders are bi-vocational, meaning that in addition to pastoring their congregations, they must work full time to meet the needs of their families. These families are making great sacrifices to serve the Lord and need our prayers to face the demands of ministry, work, and studies. On the last day of each month, you will find a dedicated prayer profile, to guide you in prayer for a particular region or school. The ministry of intercession is essential to the progress of the gospel and the fight for truth.

The truth of God is transnational, and as you are spiritually encouraged by men from as far away as Russia, Honduras, Malawi, or Japan, know that God, indeed, is Declaring His Glory Among the Nations.
